The Macmillan Money & More East of England service is a partnership between Hertfordshire County Council and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Hertfordshire County Council's Money Advice Unit is leading this programme of support and has over 30 years’ experience of running targeted projects to maximise income and provide money advice.
We have been working with Macmillan throughout the last decade, ensuring people affected by cancer are supported with their finances. We are working in collaboration with Suffolk County Council and Central Bedfordshire Council advice teams to deliver our programme of support across the East of England.
Cancer can affect work, income, travel, household costs and everyday living.
We help people affected by cancer to access advice, information and other support linked to benefits and financial wellbeing.
We cover Hertfordshire, Essex, Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
We can:
- advise on benefits you may be entitled to
- complete a benefits check
- support with "better off" calculations if your circumstances may be changing
- check your eligibility for disability-related benefits
- help with other things such as Blue Badge applications, charitable grants and help with health and travel costs
- help you to challenge incorrect decisions and represent you at tribunal when appropriate.
The online referral route is the quickest way to get started.
